This article written by Minor White talks about how photographs' meaning can change over time and the perception of a photo can vary depending each person. I've always had problem trying to look at photographs conceptually and finding some kind of meaning, this is probably the reason why I had difficulties trying to grasp the concept of what he was saying.  The example that he gave on the photographer that photographed the clouds because it reminded me of his girlfriend was a tough concept to handle. In my perception I would just see clouds and nothing else.

The article brought more thing to light after we watched the Woodman movie. I don't like how her photographs are now being looked on differently because of her death. This idea that art/ photograph loses and gets new meaning in the eyes of the public is weird. I create photographs with my own concept and ideas, while other people can have their own ideas about it, there is still that original meaning and that shouldn't be lost to the viewer.

I take photographs with the sole purpose of documenting and showing the truth of reality. I don't try to have the viewer figure out what my theme is, most of the time it is shown, it is direct and very straightforward. I find those photographs to have more of an impact, especially in the world of media.
